Dear Members
We are pleased to announce that glimaWest has changed its name to aimWest.
Despite our long relationship, Automation Alley has decided to change its direction and focus. While our Board has been working with Automation Alley to continue this partnership, we have determined that the relationship offered by Automation Alley is not in the best interests of our members.
Our change in name does not affect your membership status or the great benefits aimWest offers to West Michigan. aimWest remains the the most active and vibrant professional technology association in West Michigan, and we will continue to provide all of our members with the best
* networking events,
* educational programs,
* and growth opportunities.
We already have a great lineup of upcoming events prepared for you, including this month's panel on November 28: Web 2.0 in Business: LinkedIn, YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, Etc. at Steelcase University. Don't miss this event!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to a terrific year!

Video Gaming to Communicate With Stakeholders:
Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start.
Recently video games eclipsed box office receipts and CD sales to become the number one destination for consumer entertainment dollars. An estimated 100 million players world-wide participate in massively-multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). Transactions of virtual currency and items in video games are now so lucrative the IRS is investigating taxing them. Organizations ranging from Toyota to Harvard are now establishing virtual identities through gaming. How can video games enhance interaction with stakeholders? How can organizations best leverage this new technology to communicate key messages, solicit feedback, attract customers, and even train employees?
The event will offer a demonstration of interactive online video gaming provided by the GrandLAN Gaming Center and a panel discussion featuring:
- Ward Makielski, Ferris State University , Digital Animation and Game Design Program
- Brian Winn, Michigan State University , Serious Game Design Program
- Fusionary Media
When: Thursday, June 21, 2007
Registration: 11:30 am
Presentation: 12:00 pm

Also a yet to be named non-profit-organization will be assisting Clearwire by
making the service as low as $9.95 a month for low income accounts.
